What is Scouting?

The Scout Association is a global, educational youth movement with a membership of over 28 million members, providing young people with adventure, fun and challenge.

Scouting offers fun and friendship, challenge and everyday adventure to 400,000 boys and girls across the UK. We have a positive impact on young people, our adult volunteers and the communities in which we live. We offer over 200 different activities, indoors and outdoors, both creative and adventurous for everyone and at every level.

We challenge young people to stretch themselves, discover new talents and reach their potential. We encourage young people to learn about their community and the wider world, improve their fitness and health and develop their creative talents. We help them to enjoy adventure in the outdoors and develop their beliefs and attitudes against the backdrop of the Scout Law and Promise.
